Supervision and mentoring provides a reflective space to support facilitator issues that arise in practice and relationships within your professional practice.  The supervision session includes somatic sensing and movement along with dialogue, held in a mindful and compassionate environment.

Professional practice can be supported in supervision through investigating intentions, asking questions to stimulate enquiry, examining interventions / aspects of teaching, examining events with mindfulness and developing skills.

I have facilitated conscious dance / dance movement psychotherapy groups since 1998 in the NHS, social services, charities, and schools; working with adults with mental health diagnosis, adults and teenagers with learning disabilities, adults with cerebral palsy, adult and child caregivers, refugees, unemployed and general populations.

I have specific interests in diversity and multicultural issues, clients with disordered eating, depression, anxiety, addiction, digestive issues, chronic fatigue, trauma, fertility and women’s issues.

As appropriate to the client and situation I integrate mindfulness, Authentic Movement, Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine’s trauma work), ecopsychology and interdisciplinary art.

My theoretical approach is integrative, informed by attachment theory, developmental and transpersonal perspectives, and personal experience of both working within organisations and self-employment.

I am certified in supervision for Dance Movement Psychotherapy from the University of Roehamption, and in Supervision for Mindfulness from Bangor University.   As a senior registered dance movement psychotherapist and supervisor with the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK I adhere to high ethical and professional standards, and approach each therapeutic relationship with confidentiality, care and respect for each persons professional unfolding.
